General Questions

Is Knife Throwing safe?
YES!  The TKTO prides itself on safety.  The knives we are throwing are NOT SHARP!  We carefully monitor our throwers and all safety precautions have been set in place.  From specialized dividers, custom built end-grain targets, sports mats in main range areas, to using a Range Master for larger groups and private events.  Everything we do here is about ensuring the safety and well being of our throwers. That said, the person who can best ensure your safety is you.  Follow the instructions of the TKTO staff, be spatially aware of what is happening around you, be mindful of your movements and your surroundings at all times.
How much does it cost?
$20/hour, per person (including tax)
Includes knife rental, basic instruction and use of the lanes.
Throwers Pass – $45 (including tax)
Includes knife rental, full instruction and 2-3 hours of range time, depending on group size.
Spectators Pass – $15 (including tax)
Spectators are welcome.  In our experience, spectators are, more often than not, simply nervous at first.  We encourage spectators to watch our demonstration, and ask any questions they would like.  If they decide they would like to throw, we are happy to include them in the group.
Can I bring my own knives?

The TKTO is very strict about the types of knives we allow to be thrown at the range.

Knives must be a minimum of 12″ in length and CAN NOT have a sharpened blade.  You are always welcome to bring your own knives to the range, however, the staff onsite will determine whether or not you will be permitted to use them.  Ultimately, it is the decision of the Chief Instructor whether or not you can throw your personal knives.

What are your hours?

Are children allowed?

We welcome children 13 years or older to throw knives.

Please keep in mind, The TKTO is not a child care facility.  We require a parent/guardian to be supervising their child at all times. We require one parent/guardian per every two children. The TKTO will not be held responsible for children under the age of 18 in the facility.

Waiver forms are required to be signed by the legal guardian of the thrower. You may not sign on behalf of another parent/guardian. If you are planning on bringing a group of children to the range, we ask that you contact us in advance to ensure their forms are properly signed in advance.

I heard you have cats. I am allergic.

Yes, we have two, very friendly, healthy cats in the building.   If you are allergic, we can put them in our office during your visit.   Simply let us know when you arrive.  Please keep in mind, we can’t be held responsible for any allergic reactions you may have while at the range.

For Private Group Events, our minimum group size is six throwers.

For small groups (less than six), we recommend coming for a Walk-In session.  Walk-ins are handled on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.  Pre-registration is not available.

What is your minimum group size?

Our minimum group size is six (6) people.

You are welcome to come with less than six throwers, however, you will be required to pay the minimum cost, which is $270 (6 x $45/person).

Do I need to pre-register for Walk-Ins?

Pre-registration is required for Walk-Ins.   Click here to Register Online for a Walk-In Session

How many people can your facility hold?

The TKTO is available for private groups with as few as six (6) people.   We can host groups upwards of 65+ for larger corporate events and team building activities.  For larger groups, please contact us prior to booking online.

For Group Bookings, how soon should I book in advance?

We recommend booking as soon as possible.  Our schedule is constantly changing as people can book online, 24 hours a day.  We can not guarantee that if you see a slot is open now, that it will be available later on.

What to Wear?

What should I wear?

Closed-toed shoes, that cover the top of your foot are mandatory!

We recommend a comfortable, loose fitting top that won’t restrict arm or upper body movement. When throwing, we find people get quite warm, so layers are recommended, so you can take off long sleeved, or heavier clothing as you get warmed up.

Please note, you will be required to bend down and pick up your knives when they do not stick in the target, and fall to the ground. For this reason, short skirts and dresses are not recommended. Trust us on this. We have seen it all (and we mean ALL).

What do you mean by “Closed Toed Shoes that Cover the Top of Your Foot”?

Closed-toed shoes that cover the top of your foot are mandatory!

Closed-toed shoes, are just that. Shoes that cover your toes and the entire top of your foot.

If you are wearing opened toed shoes, or shoes that leave the top of your foot exposed, such as flip-flops, sandals or light canvas or ballet style shoes, you will not be permitted to throw.  High heels are not recommended.

Please be aware, you will be walking back and forth from the throwing line to the target, as well as using body weight transfer and balance while throwing; because of this, appropriate footwear is very important.  The TKTO highly recommends wearing comfortable, closed toed, athletic shoes.

What do you mean by ‘Fragrance Free Environment”?

The TKTO is a Fragrance Free facility.  This means, we ask that you do not wear perfume or cologne when visiting the range.

We have experienced severe allergic reactions in the past, which has cause patrons to have to leave early from events.  As a courtesy to others, we ask that you refrain from using scented products when coming to the TKTO.

Food & Beverages

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes, absolutely!

You are welcome to bring food and beverages to our facility.    We have had everything from simple munchies, to fully catered events and food trucks onsite.   Pizza, Uber Eats and others can all be ordered and brought to the range.

Please be aware, the TKTO does not offer any kitchen services, including refrigeration, cooking ranges or ovens, barbecues, microwaves or sinks.

6′ folding tables and the rail that divides the spectator area from the throwing range, are available to set out a buffet-style meal, however proper dining tables and chairs are not available.

Regarding catering and food deliveries:  Please ensure somebody from your group is present when the delivery arrives.  We recommend requesting a phone call from the delivery person prior to arrival.  The TKTO will not be held responsible for food deliveries when a group member is not present.

Do you have food available?

The TKTO does not have food available onsite.  However, you are welcome to bring food with you.  Please see above for complete details on bringing in your own food.

Is alcohol permitted?

The TKTO does not sell or provide any alcoholic beverages at our facility. You are welcome to bring your own drinks. All alcohol must be self-served.

  • Beer, pre-mixed coolers or ciders IN CANS OR TETRA PACKS ONLY.
  • Kegs and glass wine bottles are permitted, provided you use plastic cups.

  • Hard alcohol, spirits, and liqueurs.
  • Glass bottles (wine served in plastic cups is allowed).
  • Flasks or containers of home-made drinks.

Please be aware that if you arrive, or become intoxicated, you will not be allowed to throw, and WILL be asked to leave.  Guests are responsible for their own safe transportation to and from our facility.  Please arrange a designated driver, use public transit, or hire a taxi or other car service.  DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.
